Bulletboys--Za Za (1993/Warner Brothers)
Rating--6.0

Not nearly as raunchy or (consistently) metal as the previous effort. Too many style shifts, instead of just rocking out.
Some riffs dot "When Pigs Fly," and a nice groove rhythm fuels "Laughing With the Dead." "Crosstop" is an energetic romp, and "Fess" has that early Van Halen fun signature.
Though acoustic-based, "For the Damned" has a good buildup and a darker feel.
HOT CHOPS: Perhaps the best part of the disc is the nasty little churn "The Rising," about a 30 second piece that should have been an entire song. The heaviest material on here!
