Babylon A.D.--Nothing Sacred (1992)
Rating--7.0
Big hair riffs and lyrics, but caught out of time. A lot along the lines of heavier Poison or
Kik Tracee, or not-as-raw
L.A. Guns. Cali metal to be sure; the vocals are straight from the catalogs of
Autograph and Steelheart (though without the range).
Plenty of riffs abound, with "Take the
Dog Off the Chain," "Sacrifice Your Love," "Blind Ambition," and "Slave Your Body" showcasing some of the best. Drive and
chops fuel songs like "Bad Blood" and "Of the Rose," and the bluesy and groovy "Dream Train" is a nice mix between distortion
and acoustic sounds. "Redemption," while a slower song, is vocally thick and heavy--which makes it stand out as well.
