At Vance - The Evil in You (2003/AFM)
Rating - 8.8

At Vance is a band that simply continues to improve and impress with their majestic, bottom-ended Malmsteen sounds. They are heavier and more power-oriented than the Swede's band; they will please fans of both the neoclassical realm but also the Power merchants who like their music a bit darker.
Every track found here stands out. "Broken Vow" is a flowing number, "Stronger Than You Think" is swift and cutting, and the prowling title track is solid throughout.
Double-bass rhythms fuel heavy hitters such as "Right or Wrong" and "Street of Dreams," while the disc-closer "Princess of Ice" has a pounding mainframe. There's no need to mention all the highlights; again, all the selections stand out. Not only is this band talented and consistent, but they are also punctual, as 'The Evil in You' marks their fourth release in as many years.
