Take My Pain--RealAudio

The mid-career Malmsteen comparisons remain intact, as there are both intricate sections, as well as firmly-grounded rhythms at times. Like the band's debut, they quietly go about making good, talented Euro metal--and have actually matured quite nicely. There are solid strains of a heavier (more distorted) and faster Rainbow as well--the band also happens to cover "I Surrender" on this release.
The fast and swift "The Time Has Come" opens the disc, and the following title track has a flowing chorus. The cutting, etched guitar-driven piece "Take My Pain" is a treat, and the slower and crunchy "Time" actually reminds a bit of older Dio.
Other good cuts include "Fly to the Rainbow," "Hold Your Fire," "Take Me Away," and the tooling, creep-prancing versework of "Sing This Song".
