Aerosmith--Nine Lives (1997)
Rating--6.6
**U.S. Sales Certification--Multi-Platinum 2**

Not quite the cat's meow, but more of the same things we expect from rock's current commercial bad boys these days. A lot of AOR rock with only shades of what the band once was. There are a few tracks that jam out Aero-style such as "Taste Of India," "Something's Gotta Give," "Attitude Adjustment," and the title track, but for the most part this is a so-so album. If you enjoy the band's singles for the past few years, this may be your cup of tea. Tracks like "Pink," "Hole In My Soul," and "Falling In Love" have each enjoyed commercial success and will no doubt find their way on the band's next (another one?) greatest hits package.
If Joe Perry would rock out like on the track "Something's Gotta Give" for a whole album, nothing could stop them from achieving an even higher status, like the days of old. The band does get thumbs up for longetivity, but it makes you wonder how many lives Tyler has left. His daughter, now---she's just fine!
Umm.. I digress...
