Agent Steel--Omega Conspiracy (1999/Metal Blade)
Rating--7.1

Thrashy power metal, with a good amount of technical chops. The vocals show a few strains of Bruce Dickinson, and also of Hades' vocalist, though more high-pitched.
A ripping mid-groove is tucked within the fast notes of "New Godz," and good riffing stands out in "Awaken the Swarm". "Into the Nowhere" has a galloping rhythm, "It's Not What You Think" is chugging, and "Destroy the Hush" keeps a frantic pace.
A nice bonus is a cover of Judas Priest's "Beyond the Realms of Death"--Agent Steel does it justice with a biting, caustic version.
