Annihilator - Double Live Annihilation (2003/The End)
Rating - 8.6

This is a great live showcase of one of metal’s more unheralded units. Full of energy and aggression, this is a killer set that would have ruled as a DVD release. Joe Comeau has plenty of stage presence and a voice to match; quite simply put, some of thrash metal’s finest hidden gems are collected here.
The one word that might best describe Annihilator’s peak moments is "rip" -- as in, they absolutely rip through their songs with galloping, razor-honed precision. A plethora of tracks here display that sawtoothed characteristic, including "Denied," "The Blackest Day," "King of the Kill," "I Am in Command," and "Refresh the Demon."
Jeff Waters and Curran Murphy are two of the most precise guitarists in the business, and don’t lose a step when up on stage. "Lunatic Asylum" is a shredding and surgical masterpiece, with other nice cuts being "Striker," "Phantasmagoria," and the methodical stalk of "The Box."
If anyone is looking for a punch-in-the-gut introduction to the band, look no further than this tasty platter.
