Angra--Fireworks (1998/Century Media)
Rating--8.0
Extreme Dream--RealAudio
A steady release, and perhaps a bit more in the direction of traditional metal--- though the band's roots
and influences from its debut are still evident. While steady, the distortion is somewhat kept in check, and that recording nuance
keeps the songs from ever really truly breaking loose (unfortunately).
Quick verses and a heavy chorus mark "Petrified
Eyes" as a winner, and a bobbing pace keeps "Extreme Dream" in steady motion--with good end pickup sections thrown into
the fray as well.
All of "Wings of Reality," "Metal Icarus," and "Mystery Machine" are strong fare.
