Ancient--The Halls of Eternity (1999/Metal Blade)
Rating--7.0
Spiritual Supremacy--RealAudio
Death metal with vocals than lean towards Black, but the screech is not too high or extreme. Occasional gothic-like
key work lends some atmosphere, and Kimberly Goss (of Sinergy) offers spoken portions to several
of the songs as well. It's a shame to see her powerful voice used in such a limited role, however...
Good, tight riffing marks "Spiritual Supremacy," and both "A Woeful Summoning" and "The Battle of the Ancient
Warriors" are also adequate.
"I, Madman" is a top cut, complete with nasty and evil underlying guitar work that
rolls along nicely.
