No More Faith--RealAudio
Angel Dust originally made a bit of a mark in the 80's in the European thrash scene, then sort of disappeared for awhile. 'Border of Reality' marks the band's return, and also signals a change in direction in terms of the group's sound. The product is now power metal to the hilt, as the music crackles with sharp, technical, punishing precision. There are crystal-clear, excellent vocals, which fall between the likes of Vanden Plas and Jag Panzer's lead men. This offering is a bit hard to find on CD (as it was originally only released in Europe), but worth the search.
Every track stands out in some form or another. "No More Faith" is a chopping and tight-packed cut, and check out that freakin' stalk in "Nightmare"!
The slow/heavy mix of "When I Die" creates a Dio-like mood, and "Where the Wind Blows" is a melodic track, but features some nasty, rolling notes on the side. Several other cuts remind of early Dio material as well ("Spotlight Kid" and "Coming Home"), and "Border of Reality," "Centuries," and the longer "Behind the Mirror" are all good.
