Turn Me On--RealAudio
A major player in the NWOBHM, Accept came onto the American scene in a fairly big way with this release.
Brandishing a sound much like mid-80s Priest, most of the band's songs are no-frills power metal.
However, they rarely were able to step up to the next level as far as the effectiveness of the riff, chorus, and so on.
Some solid metal, but not exceptional--considering some of the other NWOBHM bands of the same era.
The title song is a
metal classic, and is strong and mesmerizing from start to finish. Nice riffs show up in "Head Over Heels," and "Losing More Than You've Ever Had"
has a strong power metal feel to it, with a nice mid-riff section as well. "Turn Me On" has a Priest-like groove, and
"Guardian of the Night" is another highlight.
