AC/DC--For Those About to Rock We Salute You (1981/Atlantic)
Rating--6.8
**U.S. Sales Certification--Multi-Platinum 3**

Is this the same band that released 'Back in Black' only a year earlier? Where is the heaviness? Where is the crunch? Ok, it's not a total collapse, but in the shadow of 'Back in Black' this album is a huge dissapointment. And the most ironic (and unjust) part, is that the album rode the wake supplied by 'BIB,' straight to the #1 spot.
The title song is well known by all, but other than a few hidden gems this album doesn't do much for me at all. The songs don't in the way of groove, and the guitar "sound" is lacking. I'm not sure if that was the production or not, but it honestly doesn't sound like the same band, as there is too much slow-paced and lethargic plod.
The salvagable songs: "Let's Get it Up" (ok, it's pretty damn good), "Evil Walks," and "Snowballed". The rating may be a gift, as it would be difficult following a 9.7 with anything any lower....
