AC/DC--Blow Up Your Video (1988/Atlantic)
Rating--6.5
**U.S. Sales Certification--Platinum**

Something's just not right here. The sound is still AC/DC, but it's also changed somewhat. It's sort of like 'Fly on the Wall' in that there aren't clear and defined riffs and grooves in some places, but it doesn't have the distortion and pure power to back it up. Several songs have strong riffs, but then have weak choruses-- "Go Zone" and "Ruff Stuff," to name a couple. The strong points are the catchy "That's the Way I Wanna Rock 'n Roll," "Kissin' Dynamite," and "Two's Up". "Heatseeker" was a single, but is only an average track, overall. However, the same pattern for Heatseeker will be followed for several more singles in the future. Ho hum.
Sort of a middling, lost-purpose release (which the band had a couple of in the late '80s/early '90s)...
