Burnin' Alive--RealAudio
Some nice riffs and grooves here. Not up to par with the late '70s/early '80s AC/DC, but overall it's better
than the other '90s releases. The lyrics, however, leave much to be desired--even moreso than usual. AC/DC has always had
a rude and crude, devil-may-care lyrical attitude... but some of these are downright pitiful.
Concerning the music, if
the band had coupled the grooves with a bit more distortion we would have really been in business.
Highlights include the maze-moving "Hail Caesar," the old-school bass bump of "Burnin' Alive," and the thickness of the disc-closing title song.
HOT CHOPS--"Burnin' Alive" has that slow, building groove feel that was found on the 'Highway to Hell' and
ealier albums. Also check out the slide-chord at the beginning of the title song. Nice and slabby, baby-- just the way ya
like it.
