Back in Black--RealAudio
The first disc following Bon Scott's death, and this is one of the truly great rock/metal albums of all time.
Brian Johnson takes over on the vocals, and has been there ever since. Although too young at the time, I can just
imagine what high school life must have been like when this album came out. Partying with this music, no cares in the world...
just life and the music.
The music is heavy, loud, and raw-- blues-based hard metal at its absolute best. The sound is
thicker than the previous AC/DC fare, but still distinguisable as the same group. It is a sound that would go on to influence a
number of '80s clones...
Several memorable anthems, and really the offering that put AC/DC on the godfathers-of-rock
map. If you don't own it, get it-- now. This was my favorite album for about 7 or 8 years in a row. Highlights include pretty much
everything, though the ones we all know by heart are "Hells Bells", "You Shook Me All Night Long", and the title song.
However, again, don't discount the others. A masterpiece.
HOT CHOPS--Again, there are so many grooves it's hard to pick out only a couple. The slow, moody intro
to "R'n'R Ain't Noise Pollution" is a personal fave. "So get off your ass and come down here..."
