Asphalt Ballet--Asphalt Ballet (1991/Virgin)
Rating--7.2
Soul Survive--RealAudio
Incorporations of the L.A. metal feel, as there are shades of Dangerous Toys,
Bulletboys, and a little Law and Order. There is some of the associated sleaze, but not
an overdone amount.
"Soul Survive" breaks forth as a top track, with its good and nasty groove rhythm. Refreshing flows
move throughout both "End of My Rope" and "Blood on the Highway," while "Hangman Swing" is carefree and rowdy.
The bluesy standout "Blue Movie" has some winding guitar work, and both "Taking a Walk" and "Goodbye Yesterday" are good tracks--
the latter having a smooth chorus.
