Amon Amarth - Fate of Norns (2004/Metal Blade)
Rating - 7.9

Amon Amarth has turned out good Death Metal at every opportunity, and that trend continues here. The distortion sound is tuned-down and somewhat muted, and that keeps the songs from being overly aggressive. However, some strong rhythms counter that effect.
"Pursuit of Vikings" has an excellent and methodical pace, the title track is a steady piece, and both "Beheading of a King" and "Once Sealed in Blood" are good. "Where Death Seems to Dwell" features a gradual buildup, and is another solid listen.
