Never Look Back - Real Audio

The main guitarist/songwriter behind Royal Hunt steps into the solo spotlight during the band's brief hiatus. The music here is very similar to RH's recent style, though perhaps not quite as distortion-based. Very symphonic and weighty, and with the same deep-rooted and majestic grooves. A slow buildup to the intro title track winds its way into a great groove and drive, with moving key work. A constant and quick-strafing rhythm marks "Burning Bridges," and the paced and thumping intro of "Never Look Back" allows it to be steady throughout.
"1000 Miles Away" is a slower track with a good chorus, and "In My Arms" is similar in stature. The pulse and flow of "Wings of Tomorrow" make it one of the heavier highlights.
An interesting cover of Whitesnake's "Crying in the Rain" shows up, as it is fueled totally by keyboards. Intriguing, but not better than the original.
With Royal Hunt now ready to release a new album, Andersen's solo career shifts into a wait-and-see mode.
